After parting ways with Barnabas, Paul begins his second missionary journey with Silas, AD 50-52, retracing the first missionary journey in reverse order, delivering the decision at the Jerusalem council that Gentiles are welcome in the Church . . . and they need not observe the Mosaic law. On route, young Timothy joins the group at Lystra and later Luke the physician joins them at Alexandrea Troas.
Luke continues on with Paul as Paul’s traveling companion, personal physician, and biographer, writing both the Gospel according to Luke and the Acts of the Apostle.
